PAST EVENTS

COUNCIL CORPORATE COMMUNION:

The Council participated in a “Corporate Communion” Mass on March 11th at St. Bridget Church.  Council Chaplain and Pastor
Fr. Jim Vick celebrated Mass as other Council members served as lectors, ushers, greeters, and special ministers of the
Eucharist.  It is always special for Council members to sit together at Mass as we exemplify two principals of the Order: Unity
and Fraternity.


FIRST DEGREE EXEMPLIFICATION:

Our newest Council member, Mauri Schmoll, went through his 1st Degree exemplification on March 26th at Council 4572 in
Cleveland.  Past Grand Knight Dave Patterson and Grand Knight Doug Schott accompanied Mauri to the ceremony which was
also attended by our District Deputy, Bill Markiewicz.


MR FUNDS PRESENTATION:

On March 29th Council 11424 presented a check for $2,400 to the Rhea of Sunshine agency in Dayton on behalf of the
Tennessee MR Foundation.  This grant money represents one half of the funds raised by our Council in the last two years from
our annual MR “Tootsie-Roll” fund drives.  The other half of the money raised supports MR Foundation programs which benefit
people with developmental disabilities throughout Tennessee.


PARISH GIFT:

Our Council recently procured several electrical extension cords for general use at St. Bridget Church as part of our continuing
effort to support parish activities.


NEW PORTRAITS:

Council Financial Secretary Frank Szot presented the Council with framed photographic portraits
of Father Michael J. McGivney and Supreme Knight Carl Anderson which will be displayed in the St Bridget Church downstairs
meeting room.





UPCOMING EVENTS

APRIL MEMBERSHIP BLITZ:

Our semi-annual membership “blitz” will be held after Mass on April 22nd.  All Council members are invited to participate as we
extend an invitation to fellow parishioners to join our ranks as members of the Knights of Columbus.

EUCHARISTIC ADORATION:

The Council will host an extended Eucharistic adoration opportunity which begins after Saturday evening Mass on April 28th and
concludes the following morning prior to the Sunday Mass on April 29th.  All Brother Knights and family members are invited to
participate.

BASEBALL OUTING:

Our Council will be sponsoring a Family Night at the Ballpark on May 19th.  This fun event includes a Chattanooga Look-Outs
baseball game as well as a spectacular fireworks display.  
Be sure to put this on your family calendar!

NOMINEES FOR 2007/2008 COUNCIL OFFICERS:

Anyone who would like to be considered as a Council officer for the upcoming fraternal year is cordially invited to submit their
name to Past Grand Knight Dave Patterson.  Dave is heading up a group of Brother Knights who are putting together a slate of
candidates for consideration at the upcoming Council meeting on May 20th.

GRAND KNIGHT’S REPORT

19 Brother Knights, including District Deputy Bill Markiewicz, attended the Council 11424 March monthly meeting on March 18th.  

It was an honor for Dave Patterson and me to attend the recent 1st Degree for Mauri Schmoll. Growth is a good and necessary
thing for any organization > you are either growing or dying, and our Council is no exception.  Mauri is the first of at least three
new members coming into the Council this spring.  I challenge each of our Council members to reach out to prospective
candidates in the next couple weeks as we complete the Easter season and then hold our April membership “blitz” after Mass
on April 22nd.

Finally, please give prayerful consideration to offering your services in one of the Council’s elected or appointed positions.  The
Council election will be at the May meeting.
